The Counsellor - in - Training program is a volunteer position that provides opportunity to youth, ages 14 - 16 years old, to learn and develop the necessary skills to become a positive role - model and become a camp counsellor.
During 4 weeks of the summer (3 sessions), the youth will live the camp experience and be given the opportunity to develop skills such as leadership, teamwork, responsibility, and decision making.
C.I.T.s will shadow counsellors, to gain the skills to become a positive role model and future camp counsellor. C.I.Ts will act as leaders and mentors to campers, and use their own interests and strengths to create a more engaging and fun environment.
Some C.I.T. duties include:
Assisting counsellors with activities (ex. archery, games, songs & skits, arts & crafts, and more!)
Engaging in camp wide games, activities and special days
Helping staff with daily camp chores and responsibilities
Being responsible and positive leader to campers
